Man Arrested After Knocking Out Northwood’s Water

A Northwood man was arrested and charged with DUI after knocking out the city’s water service.

Authorities say 49-year-old Kurt Johnson crashed into a fire hydrant overnight.

It drained the city’s 50,000 gallon water tower.

He was taken to Grand Forks County Correctional Center.

Water was restored just before noon on Thursday, about 10 hours after the accident.
