Bros on Broadway

Men and women showed off their beards at Bros on Broadway at the HoDo Lounge Thursday evening.

The event raises money to help area men with cancer.

Bros on Broadway celebrated its 7th year and the event continues to draw in large crowds.

Last year the event raised over $60,000 for men who are living with prostate cancer.

The event had games, contests and food.

The money raised will be given in the form of gas cards to pay for patient’s commute to treatment.

Hotel Donaldson Owner Karen Stoker said, “The month of February is raising money to help men in our region fighting prostate cancer.
Every dollar stays in North Dakota and North Western Minnesota and the whole community pitches in.”

Men like Doug Hamilton, who has beat prostate cancer twice, says this is a great way to talk to others who are fighting the disease.

“Help you work through something that you really hope you’d never hear. And I’m totally fine with it to be honest with you. I like the idea that I know a lot of folks that had the same circumstance that I’ve had and were doing just fine,” said Hamilton.

Over 2.9 million men in the U–S have been affected by prostate cancer.

Events like Bros on Broadway can help them in their fight against the disease.
