Reanne Pederson Sentenced

The former West Fargo woman, who pled guilty for the death of her four day old son, has been sentenced.

Reanne Pederson was given 4 months in jail and 2 years of probation.

Pederson admitted snorting hydrocodone before falling asleep while breast feeding her newborn, Avery.

She was charged with neglect homicide and ingesting a controlled substance.

Pederson spoke just before her sentencing.

“If I could take this all back I would, I lost my son and anything that anybody does will never compare to what I did to myself because of it,” said Pederson.

Asstistant Cass County State’s Attorney Leah Viste said , “I don’t think you could ever give a sentence that could equate to the loss of a life. Hopefully Ms. Pederson will be able to get the help she needs and move forward from here.”

If Pederson violates her probation, she could be sent to prison for 5 years.
