The search for a missing snowmobiler has been suspended once again after briefly resuming this week.

Specially trained dogs were brought in during this new search for 34–year–old Cole Schwindt of Moorhead.

The Valley Water Rescue team returned to the Sheyenne River today in its search for the missing man with the help of four Human Remains Detection dogs.

The dogs came from Minneapolis, St. Cloud and Moorhead to help narrow down the search area.

On Monday, the dive team drilled holes into the 32–inch thick ice to help the dogs find a scent.

Flags mark every hole the dogs inspected.

Crews searched for Schwindt’s body for about a week after he went missing in early December.

It is believed that he may have driven into an area of open water.

Authorities decided to again suspend the search because of ice thickness and low water conditions.

Searches will only restart when there is a change in river conditions.
