Fargo Spring Sweeping & Cleaning

 ‘Tis the season to start cleaning up our roads and concrete medians.

Spring sweeping started on Monday and it cleans the sand and debris accumulated throughout the winter.

The Fargo Public Works Department has been using an Automatic Vehicle Locating System in an effort to track where sweeping has been done and where it’s still needed.

The technology system helps the department perform more efficiently.

Public Works Services Manager Mark Williams says, “It gives us the ability to find the areas we’ve missed and see what frequencies we’re going in other areas as well as when citizens inquire about the last time the street sweeper went by. We’re able to give them that information.”

Once initial road sweeping is done, crews will move on to arterial and residential streets.
