Immigration Town Hall Meeting

President Obama’s newest immigration relief programs from his executive order are affecting people in the valley.

Local leaders on immigrant rights and immigration policy came together for an immigration town hall meeting. They discussed Obama’s new plans that are not yet available to the public.

The panel says that this move by the president is a step in the right direction.

“It allows individuals to come out of the shadows that are guaranteed, as long as they stay out of trouble, they are not going to be deported, it allows them the ability to work legally in the U.S., get a social security card, and in many states be able to get a driver’s license for the first time,” says Anna Marie Stenson, an attorney.
