Some competitor’s wheels have been turning and they are finally ready to present their cars.

The 57th Toppers Car show drives in 78 unique vehicles from customs, street rods, and drag cars.

It’s a rewarding day for a father and son as they remember the final touches of the 17–year building process of their Nova car.

“There’s a lot of metal work, there’s a lot of sanding, and there’s a lot of beer drinking,” says Brandon Barth of Mandan, North Dakota.

“It’s about 99 percent done we’re pretty happy with it and it seems like everybody at the show is happy with it too,” says father Dave Barth.

Some say the best part about the car is not only the finished product, but getting to spend some family bonding time.

“We spend a lot of good quality time together and stuff and I couldn’t say enough about the appreciation that I have for the job he did and the dedication,” says Dave Barth.

Car enthusiasts lined up to meet and greet cast members from History
Channel’s “American Restoration.”

Cast member Rick Dale says he can tell car owners here take pride in their projects and put the pedal to the metal.

“They’re absolutely beautiful. I mean if you go to a car show you’re showing your work off as a builder as a owner and the way that these guys have done the workmanship on their car. For me to say that is a lot because I’m a picky son of a gun,” says television star Rick Dale.

Some may be happy with their cars, but it doesn’t stop others from kicking it into gear to start working on their next project.

The top five displays were awarded $250.
