Fargo Train Engineer Sues BNSF

A Fargo train engineer involved in the 2013 derailment in Casselton is suing BNSF Railway for negligence.

Bryan Thompson accuses the company of failing to inspect and maintain equipment and warn him of the dangers of explosions while transporting oil.

Thompson claims he suffered “severe and permanent injuries.”

Authorities reported no injuries.

Thompson’s train spilled about 400,000 gallons of crude oil.

He is suing for unspecified damages.
