Everyone Matters Day Celebration In Fargo
This is “Everyone Matters Day” and people in Fargo and across the country are celebrating.
City leaders, teachers, and residents put together a video of selfies holding up a sign that said “I Am” and then filled in the blank. People decorated an Everyone Matters tree with similar phrases at the downtown library.
Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney held a news conference and said the campaign was perfect for Fargo’s diverse community.
“What we’re trying to recognize is the uniqueness of every person in the community. We all have value and we deserve dignity and respect. We think it’s important for our community to be embracing that people want to come here and live in this community, work in this community,” Mahoney says.
This was the first time the city has recognized the worldwide celebration of diversity.
