Woman Found Locked in Storage Shed; Says It’s Her Home

Sorry, this video is no longer available

It isn’t every day you hear loud cries coming from a storage unit.

Luckily one man did.

Authorities arrived at Bison Storage in north Fargo around 7:30 this morning.

A 59-year old woman who was evicted from her Fargo home had resorted to living in one of the storage units.

Police say the unidentified woman had been there a few days after she was unable to manipulate the door lock.

Beating the odds over truck traffic and warehouse noise, a worker was able to hear her cries.

“Driver showed up this morning heard some cries from in one of the sheds while he was walking into work and luckily the unit was unlocked and we were able to open it up and found a woman trapped inside.”

The woman is now being treated for mild hypothermia.

“It is not illegal to live in a storage unit but lease agreements usually state permanent residency is not permitted.”

Fargo police say they do sometimes find cases of people living in storage units.

They encourage those who find themselves in that position to reach out for help.

“If you can by any means contact us we will try to get you into a safe place or family or friends.”

We reached out to Bison storage but they declined to comment.
