UND Student Receives First Time Training Scholarship

A UND student has received the school’s first-ever training scholarship for unmanned aircraft.

Kristopher Chachula (CHAH’-chew-lah) is a senior from Orange County, California.

He was awarded a scholarship that will go annually to a senior graduating with a major in unmanned aircraft systems.

Chachula is currently an intern with the Northern Plains UAS Test Site.

The scholarship will allow him to receive hands-on training on the FAA’s first certified small drone.
