Third Times The Charm For Gehrig

Tony Gehrig’s third try at city office was the charm.
He came out first in a field of six candidates for a seat on the Fargo City Commission.
Gehrig received 3,172 votes while John Strand fell short with 3,034 votes.
This is a turnaround for Gehrig after running for city commission in 2012 and 2014 when he came in last.
Gehrig will be filling Mayor Mahoney’s spot on the commission. He says his plan is to first reduce property taxes by 20 percent.
“We can reduce taxes for anyone in the city of Fargo for anyone who owns a home in the city of Fargo or a business. That money goes right back into the economy, because when I save you hundreds of dollars you’re more likely spend that within the community. That’s how you grow an economy here in Fargo,” said Gehrig.
Gehrig will be officially sworn into the commission seat next Monday.
