Fargo fire crews were called out to a car on fire.
The call came in before noon at a house in the 1400 block of 5th street south.
The car was parked near the garage when it started on fire.
It didn’t spread to the garage or house but the heat from the fire was enough to melt the vinyl siding.
Firefighters say luckily the wind hadn’t picked up yet.
Fargo Fire Department Battalion Chief Dane Carley said, “It may have been a problem if say a northwest wind, a strong northwest wind would have put the house into more danger than it was but we don’t have that problem yet.”
Carley says the car was a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
