Local Bakery Shuts Doors After 90 Years
After 92 years in business in Fargo, Quality Bakery on South University Drive has closed its doors for the last time.
Workers spent the night making one last batch of donuts, cookies and long johns.
Owners Pete and Marlene Fendt decided to put the business on the market years ago, and hoped the bakery would live on.
But they finally accepted an offer on the building in early March, meaning an end to the operation.
Pete’s father opened the bakery back in 1923. On Monday, everything but the baking equipment will be for sale to the public.
