National Letter Carriers To Have Food Drive Day

Letter Carriers in the area will host their 23rd annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive.

The U.S. Postal Service, AFL–CIO and United Way of Cass–Clay will collect non–perishable food items along their postal routes this Saturday, May 9 to be distributed at food banks in our area.

Food pantries say their shelves usually fill–up through the winter–holiday season but often go bare come late spring.

Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo Mayors are doing their part in proclaiming the day “National Letter Carriers Food Drive Day.”

Moorhead Mayor Del Rae Williams says, “I’m really impressed with the postal workers’ willingness to not only carry those heavy loads but to add to that whatever we happen to have at our doors.”

The “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive is the nation’s largest single–day food drive to take place in 10,000 cities and towns in all 50 states.
