President Barack Obama is in Watertown, South Dakota giving the commencement address before Lake Area Technical Institute graduates.

About 600 of the 720 graduates in the spring 2015 class are walking across the stage to get their diplomas.

The president promoted his plan for free community or technical college education during his speech.

He answered the question many people were asking….why stop at a small technical school in South Dakota?

“The reason is because I believe that in a fast paced hyper connected constantly changing world that few institutions are more important to the American economy’s future than community college “

The South Dakota stop makes Obama only the fourth president to visit all 50 states while in office.
