Community Members Support Cancer Fighter

The community comes together in support of a high school athlete fighting cancer.

Paige Lazorenko is a 17–year–old West Fargo Hockey player.

She was diagnosed with stage three metastatic malignant melanoma this year.

A benefit was held to help the Lazorenko family with medical and travel expenses to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

Paige was referred to Mayo Clinic where she was told further treatment would compromise her quality of life.

“Check your body head to toe wear sunscreen don’t tan that’s how I used to be like, you don’t think it will happen to you but until it does,” Paige advices.

She also says seeing so many people support her makes it easier to persevere, “Words can’t even describe like how much it means to me and it like from the bottom of my heart it changed my life like forever and if i can thank and give everyone a big hug, I would.”
