White House Conference For Regional Aging
Land of the Dancing Sky Area Agency brings age concerns to the White House.
The White House Conference on Aging Regional Forum at the Hjemkonst Center encourages aging seniors and their caregivers to voice concerns on issues impacting older Americans living in rural areas.
Retirement security, healthy aging, long–term services, supports and elder justice were the main topics noted.
The conference hopes to help shape aging policy.
Aging Director Darla Waldner says, “Every year the federal government, it’s a ten year cycle, ask the state’s unit on aging to facilitate these forums and then it gives feedback to the President and Congress on issues, policy and research as related to the aging population.”
The forum was free and open to the public.
