ND Tax Commissioner Explains New Legislation

North Dakota Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger is in Fargo to explain tax updates from the legislative session.

The House and Senate approved $400 million in tax relief. More than half of that goes toward property tax cuts.

When home owners review their documents later this year, they will be able to see just how much money new legislation saves them.

More than $100 million will also go towards personal and corporate income tax reductions.

“North Dakota tax payers can expect to see continued property tax relief into the future. But also expanding the existing income tax relief. Individual income taxes were reduced an additional ten percent,” Rauschenberger says.

The state has cut income and property taxes by $4.2 billion since 2009.
