The Salvation Army is celebrating their 150th anniversary.

The organization hosted an open house to celebrate their 150 years of service along with National Salvation Army Week.

A short program was held, showcasing the history of the Salvation Army.

The film honored some of current volunteers who have dedicated decades to serving the community.

“It is exciting because of the fact that we’ve been around that long 150-years and in so many different countries, and it keeps blooming. From just a small idea and it blooms into such a big organization or movement,” said Fargo Salvation Army Director Major Byron Medlock .

The organization helps with basic needs such as assistance from housing, youth services, rehabilitation, disaster relief, counseling and more.
