North Dakota Launches Blue Alert
North Dakota is launching “Blue Alert”.
It’s a new system to notify the public when a law enforcement officer is killed or seriously injured.
Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says the “Blue Alert” system is a way to get the word out about potentially dangerous suspects on the loose. Notifications will come through electronic highway signs, text messages and social media.
Blue Alert is modeled after the Amber Alert system that notifies people about kidnapping suspects and victims.
