Fatal Fargo Bar Assault: 4 Men Charged with Murder

The Fargo–man that was brutally beaten over the past weekend has died.
The suspects are now charged with murder. KVRR’s Brittany Ford has the story.
35–year–old Joey Gaarsland passed away early this morning at Sanford Medical Center.
The father of five was out on a date with his wife Saturday night when they were both attacked in the parking lot between Rick’s and Speck’s bars in Fargo.
Police have already charged 4–suspects and there could be more.
“We have charged the people that we feel we have enough probable cause to charge for that event. Could based on future information there be additional charges could there be changes in charges there is always that possibility,” said Lt. Joel Vettel of Fargo Police.
Scott Moen, Nicholas Morris, Jason Oien and Jessy Olson are now charged with murder in addition to a previous charge of aggravated assault.
The four men were read the charges via I–TV from the Cass County jail where the maximum charge was read of murder
After the hearing prosecutors told us where they are in the investigation.
“There was an autopsy that was performed today. I don’t feel like I’m at liberty at this point to explain the results of what that autopsy were, but I’ll be all part of the evidence that the state presents at the time we should go to trial,” said Birch P. Burdick Cass County State’s Attorney.
Gaarsland leaves behind his wife and 5–children.
