East Grand Forks Renovation Plans May Dive
Swimmers in East Grand Forks may be out of a pool this summer.
East Grand Forks mayor Lynn Stauss vetoed the $1.8 million bid renovation of the city’s swimming pool.
This is only a week after the project bid was approved by the city council.
Council members can override the veto with a three to four vote.
East Grand Forks City Administrator David Murphy said, “Typically the pool would be open this time already, when we did the budget last year in anticipation for this we did not budget any money for the operations of the pool. So that’s something we’d have to bring before the council and have them discuss and make a decision.”
The council will meet this Friday for the vote.
