Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A 31-year-old man is in custody on attempted murder charges after pulling a gun on a man in Grand Forks.

Mohamed Mohamed got into an altercation with another man in an apartment Thursday night.

According to police, he pulled out a gun and in a fight over the weapon, it went off.
The would-be victim was able to hold Mohamed down until police arrived.

“There was a struggle for the gun. It’s my understanding that during that time is when the gun discharged. Eventually the would-be victim took the gun away from the person who had pulled it and subdued him until officers arrived,” says Lt. Derik Zimmel of Grand Forks police.

Mohamed also faces charges of terrorizing and reckless endangerment.
