North Dakota Special Olympics Culmination
The North Dakota Special Olympics come to a close.
More than 550 athletes from throughout the state of North Dakota competed to be named the best in the Peace Garden State.
Today’s events included track and field events like shot put and the long jump.
“Our Special Olympics athletes are some of the most resilient people in the world. They wouldn’t care if it was raining; they just love the chance to be out here at Davies on the track. This is important to them,” says Kathy Meaghar, North Dakota Special Olympics CEO.
Members of the regional Lyons Club conference helped set up today’s Special Olympics events.
