Torch Run Lights the Way for Special Olympics

As a part of the opening day festivities for the North Dakota Special Olympics, law enforcement held their annual torch run.

The torch run is a 30-year tradition to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics and the state’s summer games.

Officers began the run at St. Anne & Joachim Church, and ended at Davies High School.

At the end of the run, officers were greeted by the Special Olympic athletes, families and coaches.

The “Flame of Hope” was ignited to celebrate the athlete’s hard work and honor their participation.
