Dogs are on their best behavior in West Fargo. It’s the 59th annual F–M Kennel Dog show.
Hours of preparation and thousands of dollars have gone into training, and these furry friends are here to be crowned dog champion.
Griffin the dog, is ranked 20th in the nation.
But why see these pups in action?
Show Chairman Steve Litzinger said,”If you’re looking for a dog, come to an all–breed show. There’s different types of dogs there and see if the dog fits your family the best.”
And one family is doing just that, and after today they might get into the dog show business.
Traveling from over an hour away to see the show, Kristen Vetter said, “It depends on what kind of schnauzer we eventually find. If it’s show quality or what we decide to do. we have a farm so we would like to use it for that.”
For owners, showing these dogs are much more than just a blue ribbon Traveling to shows with griffin his owner says these dogs save her as she battles lupus.
Tammy Lodein said, “With my medical issues a lot of people want to give up, and I’m a fighter always have been and the dogs keep me going.”
And for these owners it’s true that a dog is a person’s best friend.
More than 500 dogs per day attended this year’s show.
