Arrest Warrant Issued for Suspect in Standoff Near Thief River Falls
Nearly a dozen agencies are searching for a Minnesota man involved in a domestic dispute near Thief River Falls.
Eric Reinbold of Oklee is wanted for three counts of second degree assault.
All may be quiet now but hours ago law enforcement was engaged in an air and ground search for Eric Reinbold after a domestic dispute with his wife at their farm.
The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office says they initially visited after a phone call was received from Reinbold and their mailman who had witnessed the dispute.
Sheriff Ray Kuznia says, “The original phone call he stated that him and his wife got into a disagreement and he was more so trying to blame it on his wife.”
They say Reinbold didn’t want his wife and two children going shopping in Grand Forks.
Instead, he wanted to put her on citizen’s arrest.
Pennington County Sheriff’s Office says, “The incident would get resolved very easily.”
Police visited the farmstead and found no one home.
They later received a call from Reinbold asking them to meet him at the house.
When they arrived, they heard Reinbold yelling from the woods telling them he had a gun.
The deputy called for backup and Reinbold fled.
Kuznia says, “He stated that he didn’t want to be arrested.”
Authorities say Reinbold is no longer in the area and does not pose any type of threat to the public.
The Sheriff adds, “Our crews have been out there searching for the last two days. They have found some tracks where he has crawled out of the wooded area where they lived in and swam the river.”
An arrest warrant has been issued for Eric Reinbold.
