UPDATE: Murder Charges Filed in North Fargo Killings

35-year-old Ashley Hunter is charged with two counts of murder after two people were killed in two separate days.

He was arrested early this morning.

Fargo Firefighters first responded to a house fire at 1122 12th Street North just after midnight.

Smoke was coming from the house and they found a 25-year-old male inside dead.

Fargo police have been investigating a murder scene at 319 12th Avenue North since yesterday afternoon where the body a 45-year-old man was found.

They surrounded an apartment building last night after they thought Hunter was inside.

Hunter turned himself in only a block away from the second murder site early this morning.

A fire call in north Fargo early this morning ends in a suspicious death investigation and police arrest the man wanted in a separate homicide investigation just one block from the scene.

Fargo police say firefighters responded to a house fire at 1122 12th Street North around 12:30 this morning.

There was smoke coming from the home and when firefighters went inside, they found the body of a man.

Police say the man did have some injuries that looked violent in nature but are not yet calling it a homicide.

35-year-old Ashley Hunter turned himself in early this morning.

He did have an outstanding warrant for an unrelated case.

He is wanted for questioning in Monday afternoon’s homicide investigation that resulted in a hours long standoff but no arrests.

Police are not saying if he is connected to the death investigation but they have not yet ruled him out.

Police are now saying the apartments on University and 1st Avenue North where a hours long standoff for Hunter happened last night had people connected to the suspect inside.

They have not yet filed charges in either case and so far, no other arrests have been made.
