Busy Weekend For Travelers

People were out on the roads in full force this holiday weekend.

According to AAA, almost 42 million people traveled more than 50 miles on the holiday weekend.

AAA also reports that 35.5 million people were estimated to take to the roads which is an increase of .07 percent from last year.

Dale Berger of Mandan said, “I’ll tell you what from Sauk Center Minnesota to Minneapolis, there’s a lot of traffic going into the cities but we were kind of lucky going out so it was pretty light.
 
Amy Warren who went to the lakes this weekend said, “At the lake it was kind of a lot of traffic, but it wasn’t too bad I guess.”

This is the most  travelers  to take  a  getaway trip  on Independence  D ay since 2007.
