Kids Find Their Love for Sports

If you want to get your kids into sports, the Fargo Park District has a program to help figure out what they may be interested in playing.
Kids warm up for a fun filled afternoon at the park.
This week, they learn the game of golf in the Fargo Park District sport sampler program.
For five weeks, kids between the ages of four and six explore a variety of sports.
The supervisor and coach Jacki Halland said,”They’re so young so they’re able to experience the different sports instead of starting a sport and then figuring out they don’t like it at all and then having to go that whole season doing it and then they don’t like it so they get to try different sports to see if they like it.”
One parent who’s a golfer, says it’s a great way to see if his daughter will want to join him on the links someday.
Jamie Zuel said,”It’s a lifeālong sport that she’ll be able to do, even into adult hood so it’ll be fun to golf with her someday.”
Having a sampler like this, kids might or might not like a certain sport. But parents say the park district is right on target by letting these kids try any and every sport.
Teresa Olson said,”They teach the kids technique and they also give them the opportunity to try thing themselves rather than just telling them so they really get to experience each sport.”
The next Tiger Woods could be in the group, or not. But either way, they’re having fun with sports.
