The Salvation Army is making sure people in our community have items to keep themselves clean and healthy.
People around the community helped stuff a Salvation Army truck with much needed personal care supplies at West Acres Mall.
Leaders say the biggest needs in the community include socks, shampoo, soap and adult diapers.
Donations were collected throughout the afternoon.
“With these personal care items some people don’t have at home, they’re able to take care of their person and be able to feel better about themselves and maybe get out there and find a job,” said Major Byron Medlock with The Salvation Army.
This year, the drive exceeded its 1,000 item goal with more than 1,400 items collected.
