UND Chairman Out On Bail

A faculty chairman at the University of North Dakota who’s facing child pornography charges is out of jail.

Fifty-five-year-old Dr. Robert Beattie has been charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

Beattie was released on $25,000 bail Friday night.

Authorities raided Beattie’s home in Grand Forks on Thursday.

A thumb drive was taken from Beattie’s work desk that contained 100 videos and more than 700 images.

Court documents say the images and videos depict adults involved in sex acts with children.

As a condition of his release, Beattie is not allowed to access the internet.
