There are extra police patrolling schools in Fargo as the school year gets underway.
Department administrators will be on patrol and assisting with traffic enforcement throughout the city during what the department calls “Blue Days”.
It’s a way to let parents know about traffic laws like where to park and police say it’s also a chance to get to know people in the community.
Another goal is to get people to use seat belts.
“A lot of times you get new kids that run to school, they’re excited to school and so they’re not paying attention to say cars in the neighborhood,” said Fargo Police Department Sgt. Jim Kringlie.
“Blue Days” go through Friday.
