It is a ground breaking day for Bonanzaville as it welcomes its new church.
KVRR’s Brittany Ford joins us live to show us just how the new church is settling in.
Brittany?
Alison, community and staff members have waited more than a year for this day, and they are now celebrating their new 125 year old piece of history.
The South Pleasant Church made its way down Main Avenue just after 1:45 this afternoon.
To ensure its safe arrival, police shut down the street, and electricians were brought in to move power lines.
One former member of the church says it is a special thing to see the church being brought to life.
“It’s a happy day its not a sad day at all we are looking forward to this church. Bonanzaville has been wonderful to work with. They’re always keeping us up to date on their plans for this building, and it should be top class when they get it done,” says Larry Johnson, lifelong church member.
On KVRR News at nine, we will have more reaction from staff and community staff members, and how the moving process isn’t quite finished yet.
