Fargo Escape Room Attracts Thrill Seekers

A new phenomenon has made its way to Fargo. The Fargo Escape Room is officially open.

It’s not your typical night out.

“You have to depend on each other to find your way out. That’s why we think it makes a great date night,” says Co-Owner Eric Ista.

You and up to seven friends are trapped in this room and have one hour to solve a series of puzzles and riddles to get a combination that lets you out.

“It’s all about story telling. So we kind of come up with a back story for why people might be stuck in this room first and then come up with some ways that they might get out,” says Ista.

The theme of the first ever Fargo Escape Room is “Framed.”

“You have been framed for a bank robbery. So the actual robber himself has somehow gotten you into this room and now, he’s a bit of a gambling man and so he’s left some clues for you to find and maybe clear your name,” Ista says.

You can ask for clues but that doesn’t mean it’s going to help. There’s only a 30 percent success rate.

“We do want to have a lower success rate just so when you get out it is a feeling of accomplishment,” he says.

Family and friends of Eric and the four other co-owners have been testing out the room throughout the past month but now it’s officially open to the public.

“You do have to make reservations. Go to our website or our Facebook page and there’s a booking site that you go to from there. It’ll tell you what rooms are available and how many spaces are left in each room,” Ista explains.

Fargo Escape Room on Main Avenue in West Fargo is open 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weeknights and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday.

Owners plan to keep each themed room up for about six months before changing it into something completely different.
