Darcy’s Café isn’t just serving lunch; they’re also serving up smiles for people like Theresa Moen.

“It’s just really enjoyable,” said Moen of Grand Forks.

She’s been coming to the café for the last 12 years after losing her husband Duane.

She visits the café at least five times a week with her friend Ron.

“You’re treated on a first name basis by all the waitresses, and the cooks. I mean, they’re just great,” said Moen.

The café prides itself on serving up mostly home cooked meals.
There’s usually a favorite people like to stick with.

“One of my favorites is their soup of the day,” said Moen.

It’s Myron McIntosh’s first time at the café, but he found his favorite right away.

“This is honestly by far the best patty melt I’ve ever had, and I could honestly say that like hands down,” said McIntosh of Grand Forks.

“Many of the people who come by the cafe say they love the small hometown feel as soon as they walk through the doors.”

Owner Lee Glatt says a lot of people like how homey the café is.

“That’s what we hear a lot like; I’m from so and so place. I used to have a hometown cafe I went to and this feels exactly like it, they feel at home,” said Glatt.

“It’s homey, you meet your friends here,” said Moen.

“As soon as we walked in the waitress was very hospitable, took our order right away. Everything was quick, fast,” said McIntosh.

And many people share the same opinion as Moen.

“I’m not surprised, because they have very good food here,” said Moen.

Which is why Darcy’s Café is this week’s hometown favorite.
