West Fargo Elementary students aren’t only eating their veggies…they’re eating local too.

The West Fargo Schools have partnered with Fresh Connect Food Hub, a service which links local growers and customers.

The schools have already received over 2,000 pounds of food.

The local food items include cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and melons.

The service delivers and packages the food and follows strict growing conditions.

“So I have real confidence in the product were getting. I think that is worth so much to know that you’re confident in the quality we’re serving to our children. It looks good, it’s fresh,” says Jan Sliper, West Fargo Food Service Director.

West Fargo is on their third food shipment and just partnered with Food Hub in August.

The season lasts until October and will start again in April.
