NDSU is also preparing for the expected herd of rowdy football fans.

It has hired a private security company as a way to prevent the chance of vandalism around the campus and more importantly the school’s Bison statue.

The school explained in a statement that it has hired extra security so campus police will have the time to respond to more serious matters.

Students on the campus say they appreciate the effort.

“It makes me feel kind of safe like there’s security around and all the UND fans are going to mess with the bison and everything so I think it’s a great thing to do,” said Alex Chase Freshman at NDSU.

The school says it will not disclose specifics on what their security plans for Saturday will be, but they say the increase is due to suspicious activity in the last couple of weeks.
