World’s Largest Truck Convoy Rolls Through Fargo
If you heard semi–trucks honking their horns it was the World’s Largest Truck Convoy for Special Olympics rolling through Fargo.
More than 70 trucks lined up and honked their horns as the crowd waved showing their appreciation to the drivers.
They drove approximately 14 miles through Fargo and West Fargo to show their support for Special Olympics.
The WLTC is an international fund raising and awareness event for Special Olympic athletes to be able to train year–round.
“Who wouldn’t want to ride in a big rig right? It’s something I’ve never even done so I’m a little bit jealous that they get to do it every year like this, but I think it’s just a new experience for them. It’s something that a lot of people don’t like get the chance to do,” said Special Olympics N.D. Director of Development Reid Huttunen.
The North Dakota Truck Convoy is part of an international event which involves more than 2,000 truckers.
They raised more than a million dollars last year.
