Non-Profit Day at West Acres Mall

Non–profits from the area filled West Acres Mall, reminding shoppers of the work being done in their own community.

From Make A Wish to  Catholics of America…more than 40 non–profits joined FM Area Foundation’s Non–Profit Day.

They had booths set up in the mall.

This year’s theme is “have you needed us yet,” bringing awareness to the many community members who heavily rely on these services.

“Maybe you personally haven’t had to work with a non–profit but sometime maybe in your life you do and you need to kind of understand there’s a lot of services in the community for everybody and if you need something, if you’re looking for something there’s people out there to help you,” says FM Area Foundation Program Officer, Lexi Oestreich.

This is the event’s fifth year.

The FM Area Foundation is celebrating its 55th anniversary.

The foundation has given back more than $38 million to the community through grants and scholarships.
