Fargo Volleyball Players “Dig Pink” to Help Battle Breast Cancer

Two district volleyball rivals are putting competition aside in an effort to beat cancer.

The Fargo North and South girls volleyball teams traded in their school colors to help find a cure for breast cancer.

Wearing light and dark pink jerseys, the two teams played in their eighth annual Dig Pink Cancer Fundraiser volleyball match.

At the end of each set, the teams participate in what they call a miracle minute, where they pass a bucket around to collect donations.

“I don’t know that this year there’s any personal connection between the two teams, but in the past everyone has somebody that they know that’s been affected by breast cancer, and something that everyone can relate to so we felt the need to do something special for it,” says Andrea Butler, Fargo South Coach.

All funds raised will be donated to the Side Out Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
