Police Ask Fleek App Users to be Careful

A new app similar to snap chat is hitting college campuses …and UND police are warning students to be careful.

The app, “Fleek” allows students to post pictures and videos anonymously.

Anyone who has the app can look at the pictures, including law enforcement.

UND police say they keep a watchful eye on all social media activity.

Police say if necessary, these anonymous post cans be traced.

“Once those pictures are out there, they’re really out there. With a lot of these apps you can actually screen shot it and you can hold on to that image forever. So you know, our big thing is we want students to realize hey if you are posting things to social media make sure they’re appropriate,” says Sgt. Danny Weigel, UND Police Department.

Similar to fleek, Weigel says the app, “Fade” was the most commonly used app last year on UND’s campus.

He says other anonymous apps have popped up in the past.

He expects this app to come and go as well.
