A 16 year-old boy is charged as an adult in the murder of 55-year-old Brad Carrington of Moorhead.

But the investigation is not over as police continue to search for a second suspect.

16-year-old Zachary Daniel St. Claire told police he has thought of killing Carrington before.

And while drinking with Carrington in his trailer home Sunday night, St. Claire said he saw an opportunity to kill him, and he did.

St. Claire says he was molested by Carrington for three to four years.

“He did commit the most serious offense. It is very sad,” says Lt. Jacobson of Moorhead Police Dept.

A serious case that is still ongoing since a second suspect, Anthony Rodriguez is still on the run.

At this point our priority focuses on trying to locate Anthony Rodriguez.

Just this morning Rodriguez’s car was found in Fargo.

He had switched out the wide tires on his car to regular tires.

Jacobson says he has the community to thank for finding the car.

“We continue to have dialogue and people to contact us with information that may hopefully ultimately sooner than later locate this individual,” says Jacobson.

St. Claire also told police as soon as he had killed Carrington, he ran home to his mother’s house where he lives.

He says he washed all of his clothes as soon as he got home and then threw his shoes in the river.

Even though St. Claire is being tried as an adult, he will remain in the juvenile detention center until his next court hearing on October 30th.

Sitting in court, St. Claire and his family wiped away tears and will have to wait, to see where his future lies.

Police ask that the community stay vigilant and report any additional information they may have to help them track down Rodriguez.
