3 Arrested After Fargo SWAT Team Raid

Three men are behind bars after a SWAT team raided a home in connection to an armed robbery in September.

Despite the arrests, police say the investigation is far from over.

It was hectic scene Friday night.
A SWAT team blocked off multiple blocks in North Fargo, initially confusing local residents.

“I live right down the street from them,” says local resident Paul Ramos.

Police were executing a search warrant at 1328 4th Ave. N in connection with an armed robbery at a Fargo Taco John’s on September 3rd.

An employee was shot during the stick-up.

Fargo Police Lieutenant Joel Vettel says, “This kind of is a big piece of the puzzle to really resolve this case.”

Eight people were detained by police. Three were ultimately arrested:
27-year-old Rico Brown, 29-year-old Tommie Trent, and 24-year-old Kadeem Muhammad, all of Fargo.

Lt. Vettel says, “We certainly think that these arrests are significant. It certainly sends a clear message that no matter what, you commit these types of crimes in the
community, we might not solve them the next day, but we will solve them and
we’ll bring those people responsible for them to justice.”

Blocking off multiple blocks to execute a search warrant may seem excessive.

“I just wanted to go to Dairy Queen, but there are, like, squad cars around,” says Ramos.

But with an armed robbery investigation, police didn’t know what situation they were walking into.

Vettel adds, “The point was to make sure we’re doing it as safely as possible. And that’s what we wanted to do. That’s why we utilized the SWAT team.”

Police say they’re still on the case. They want to send a message: You can never rest after you commit a crime.

“At no time did this investigation stop,” Vettel warns.

Fargo police say they expect more arrests in connection to the robbery in the coming days.
