New Drone Training Facility Breaks Ground at Grand Sky

Grand Sky will now boast two of the largest drone manufacturers in the world.

General Atomics broke ground for its drone training academy at Grand Sky.

Training at the academy will begin as soon as mid–2016.

The company signed a 10 year lease for 5.5 acres. Grand Sky is already ahead of its goal to fully lease the entire park by 2025.

The park has over 1 million square feet of space.

“This is very exciting. General Atomics is one of the premier companies in unmanned aviation. They manufacturer the predator and the reaper so now together with Northrop Grumman we have the two premier companies in unmanned aviation in the Grand Sky Technology Park,” says Senator John Hoeven.

Strong security, un-congested airspace and access to the Grand Forks Air Force Base runway were just some of the features that attracted General Atomics to break ground at Grand Sky.
