Mall of America Not Enhancing Security After Paris Attack

The terrorist attacks in Paris have created a heightened state of awareness across the world. But in our region, Minnesota police officials say there are no plans to increase security at the Mall of America following the Paris terrorist attacks.

Deputy Bloomington Police Chief Mike Hartley says that police already had an increased presence at the nation’s busiest shopping center.
Hartley says that’s typical, especially around the holidays. He said Saturday there has been no specific threat directed at the mall.

In February, a video purportedly made by al-Qaida-linked rebels urged Muslims to attack shopping malls. The video specifically mentioned the Mall of America.
