Candlelight Vigil Spreads Message of Peace Amid Terror and Tragedy
The recent attacks on the City of Lights was just one reason people in Fargo lit candles tonight hoping to spread peace across the globe.
People held their candles close remembering and honoring victims of terrorism all over the world including Paris, Beirut, Mali and Syria. The candlelight vigil at Olivet Lutheran Church was a place to show solidarity in the community and support for people suffering around the world. Those at the gathering said the prayers and silent reflection show support for others no matter the distance.
“We all feel so helpless and this is one small way of standing in solidarity with others who care,” says Pastor Helen Beth Kuhens.
Candlelight Vigils were also held Saturday night in Grand Forks and Bismarck.
