Community Helps Handi-Wheels Give Free Rides to People in Need
Handi-Wheels Transportation is going the extra mile to help people with disabilities in the community.
People lined up for a spaghetti dinner and silent auction Saturday night to support Handi-Wheels Extra Mile event.
The organization offers free rides to medical appointments for people with disabilities. Money raised will help make traveling around easier and more affordable for people who have difficulty taking public transportation. Handi-Wheels Board members say they want to make the community aware of how the organization helps others.
“It’s important to let people know that this service exists, that it needs to be supported and that it provides a valuable service to the community,” says Handi-Wheels Board President Allan Peterson
Handi-Wheels offers up to 15,000 rides in the Fargo-Moorhead area each year.
