HARWOOD UPDATE: Authorities Still on the Scene of a “Welfare Check”
Information is still limited but as of this update at 11:55pm, authorities from area agencies continue to patrol a rural area near Harwood.
A law enforcement vehicle known as a BearCat is also being used at the scene.
Authorities are turning cars away from the scene in order to keep their perimeter secure.
A report came in just after 8 pm tonight that shots were fired near a farmstead.
Harwood Fire and Rescue, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies responded.
KVRR reporter Adam Ladwig spoke to officials at the scene who stated they were doing a welfare check on an individual but were not able to give any other information.
Reports also stated a police negotiator was called in to help.

We begin tonight with some breaking news.
Authorities from Harwood rescue and Cass County Sheriff’s Office are responding to a rural area in Harwood after reports of shots being fired just after 8 pm.
They have called in a negotiator and are working on securing the scene.
